Story The Strangest Hailstor

In 1930 a German pilot was flying his glider when he found himself caught in a storm.

His glider was being tossed about so much he decided it would be safer if he baled out. So he did.

But instead of dropping to the ground, he went upwards, in a powerful wind, right into the heart of the storm clouds.

As he was tossed about inside the storm, ice began to form on his body, and soon he had become a huge hailstone.

Then he began to drop, and as he fell he came back to his senses and pulled the rip cord on his parachute.

By the time he reached the ground all the ice on his body had gone, but he was still alive!


Hail is part of God's creation. God also makes fire and wind, snow and clouds.

In fact, all weather comes from God.

The Bible says:
"Fire, and hail; snow, and vapor (clouds and mist); stormy wind fulfilling his word" Psalm 148:8
