Wording of this Handout:
The Christian life.
Some people think the Christian life is a promised Land of blessings, but when you look at the Old Testament story of how Israel took the Promised Land, you will see that it was by war that they drove out their enemies. They had to fight many fierce battles to gain the land, and many brave fighters suffered and died on the way.
The Christian life is just as fierce, but instead of swords we use words, and instead of fists, we use prayer. Our mission is clear: take the world. Our method is simple: live the Christian life wherever we are.
But there are enemies everywhere. Who are these enemies? Anyone who is not living wholeheartedly for Jesus is God's enemy and therefore a danger to us. Anyone who s not Christian is part of the opposing army.
You may prefer to fight alone (like me), or you may feel the need for other soldiers close by, if so, pick the strongest and the best. Stay away from the worldly Christians - they are as dangerous as skunks or wild pigs. The can destroy true Christians as easily as rot spread though fruit.
Don't look back. Don't listen to the devil's accusations and lies. Keep your mind on the truth and there won't be time or room for anything else. Remember that God always loves you.
You'll make it.
Hi dad!
Great to see you!
