Psalm 93 finalist in poetry contest
The LORD reigns! He is robed in majesty; the LORD has clothed and armed Himself with strength. The world indeed is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Your throne was established long ago; You are from all eternity. Psalm 93:1-2

Psalm 88 second in poetry contest
O LORD, the God of my salvation, day and night I cry out before You. May my prayer come before You; incline Your ear to my cry. For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near to Sheol. I am counted among those descending to the Pit. Ps 88:1-4

Psalm 84
For better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. Psalm 84:10

Psalm 73
This one is somewhat special to me because I wrote a version of this way back in my early teens. It was interesting to see how far I had come as a writer in the last 45 years or so. "Truly God is good to Israel, to those whose hearts are pure." Ps 73:1

Psalm 68
This is my poetic take on Psalm 68.

Psalm 51
For the director of music. A psalm of David. When the prophet Nathan came to him after David had committed adultery with Bathsheba.

Psalm 44
We have heard it with our ears, O God; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago. With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our ancestors; you crushed the peoples and made our ancestors flourish. Psalm 44:1-2

Psalm 41 finalist in poetry contest
Even though I'd known that the Psalms were divided into 5 books for most of my life, until I wrote this, I didn't know that the last verse (or so) of the last Psalm of each Book was a doxology. Psalm 41 is the final Psalm of Book 1, ending in a doxology.

Job 38 • Who Dare? first in poetry contest
After Job converses with his four friends for 35 chapters, God shows up in chapter 38 to set the record straight. And, boy, does he ask a lot of questions! Right from the get-go, he asks: “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words?"
