Shepherd boys

by Carol Dee Meeks © 2006

They watch and tend their flock of sheep.
They guide and show their paths to keep.
They were kinda known as low class
until they viewed this looking glass.

And little did they know that night
the Majesty’s birth beneath the light
It shown so bright, it shown with might,
the sheep even grasped this awesome sight.

The shepherds’ lips sang songs with joy,
announced the birth of the little boy.
Their flocks were bleating all in rhyme
as glory seeped this era time.

And we still celebrate this birth
on Christmas Day throughout the earth.
This boy child who laid on the hay
came to save us on Christmas Day.
