It is a mystery to our hearts
That Christ in us, th'eternal plan
Brings hope of glory to our lives
His wonders to present to man.
To look within we often see
The trappings of our former days
Where failures and shortcomings are
And human effort Christ betrays.
To know His resurrection Life
'No longer I' for He's in me
To know a newer way to live
A vessel of His treasury.
It is in Him that we abide
And nothing can we ever do
Without His Holy Life within.
Now leave the old - embrace the new.
More wonderful than we can know
That God Himself would place inside
Our humble vessels on the earth
The Life of Him who for us died.
The richest treasures ever seen
The finest music ever heard
Worlds greater than the sea and land
Are captured by the Living Word.
Oh depth of riches! Who can tell?
His all-embrasive Life within
King of the universe is He
From heaven He came, to bring us in!
