GRIEF

Grief: Some say it's easy to get through,
But I am finding that's not so easy to do!
My grief comes in waves throughout the day,
Sometimes, it feels like it is here to stay.

Why can't I feel happiness and joy any more,
Most days I feel like I'm in a constant war.
Will these unwanted feelings ever end?
Or is peace just around the next bend?

I know that grief is a way of healing,
But I'm not sure, the way I'm feeling!
Some days, I want to stay home and cry,
But I am now willing to give joy a try.

Maybe I could begin helping others in need,
By looking for ways to do a good deed.
I am hoping to find happiness and peace,
And wondering if my sorrow will ever cease.

I know I need to go to the Lord in prayer,
Because He's the One who is always there.
He will help me through this time of grief,
He's the One to help find a sense of relief.

Yes, our Lord is the one Who we should go to,
Whenever we are down and feeling blue.
When we feel we're at the end of our rope,
He is the only One who can bring us real hope.
