my attention is misplaced
as time hurries for the door,
this season never replaced
time to get out on the floor.
singing a song with no voice
hope forgotten in the rush,
I'm too busy to rejoice
grace buried beneath my crush.
stressed out about tomorrow
I lose the beauty of the now,
yesterday's glance leaving sorrow
if regret's weight, you do allow...
now - be still before your Maker
resting in the strength He brings,
be a giver not a taker,
for over us - our God sings.
live surrendered to this moment
aware of the gift - this day is,
relying on God's atonement
making our every second His!
