I Wanna Go Home

by Anita McNairy

I wanna go Home
To join my loves already there
Where my limbs are able
And I can do my own hair

At Home I'll be doing real good
The Whopper I eat will actually have flavor
I'll be able to chew every bite
And every bite I will savor

Jesus has set a table for me
With every dish, sauce, and spice
All my favorites laid out before me
Tobasco and watermelon-Every slice

My loved ones you take great care of me
When I simply can no more
My earthly body fails me now
But I remember the suffering Jesus bore

I've had a good long life here
Remember me in your heart
That all the love I have for you
Is comforting to you as we part

Know as I do the One who loves us
As He walks with me every day
Keep Him also by your side
So when you're ready you'll also know The Way

In memory of Clementine Singleton
