So many years have passed me by —
I've aged — my hair's turned gray.
Each wrinkle on my weathered face
is etched and there to stay.
These eyes have witnessed many births
that brought joy to my heart.
They've also seen excessive deaths —
loved ones that did depart.
These lips have kissed my handsome groom
and whispered, "I love you."
They've spoken words of tenderness
and fought for loved ones, too.
They've also given thanks to God
and praised Him through each day.
for every blessing — every gift
that He has sent my way.
These hands have worked since childhood —
in fields — on vast farmlands.
They've also helped to feed the poor
with meals that I had planned.
These arms have held my little ones
and hugged their hurts away.
I've rocked them through the night at times
when sickness came their way.
This heart of mine holds memories —
forever etched and dear.
They're ones that bring me smiles of joy —
the ones saved o'er the years.
And as I reminisce through life
I'm thankful for my LORD.
He's given me so much in life —
things I'd not asked Him for. . .
