Prepare the Soil of My Heart

LORD,

Prepare the soil of my heart—
please till it, and plant seeds.
Nurture me—encourage growth—
remove ungodly weeds.

Wash me clean—renew my soul—
forgive what I have done.
Free me from all worldly things—
help me to claim none.

Prepare the soil of my heart—
please till it, and plant seeds. . .

Rescue me from ignorance
and grant me discernment.
Lead me as I journey, LORD—
with You I'll be content.

Prepare the soil of my heart—
please till it, and plant seeds. . .

Scatter seeds within my heart
so when it's time to reap,
I'll harvest fields of blessings, LORD,
to share and will not keep.

Prepare the soil of my heart—

Show me Your unfailing love—
bring me to Your Light.
Be the Beacon in my life
that shines forever bright.
