Jesus Tells Us to Pray

and love our enemies,
but it's difficult at times
to pray these prayers with ease.
"But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you . . .
For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds;
and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."
(Matthew 5:44 & 7:8, NIV).
Pray for those who persecute
and for the ones you love.
God will listen to your prayers
with mercy, from above.
And . . .
You'll receive if you believe
what e'er you ask in prayer.
Jesus tells us this is so—
this He does declare.
Yes . . .
Everyone who asks receives—
the one who seeks will find,
and the ones who come to knock
will never be declined.
Please know that . . .
All who come before the LORD
will be blessed by His love.
He will listen to each prayer,
intently from above.
