"My back is filled with searing pain;
there is no health in my body.
I am feeble and utterly crushed;
I groan in anguish of heart."
(Psalm 8:7–8, NIV)
The suffering that one might feel—
is different for each one.
The pain that someone undergoes
can be compared to none.
It is an individual
experience for all.
Using scales from "1 to 10,"
we all make diff'rent calls.
Some have a greater tolerance
and hardly feel their pain.
Yet, others may sense every twinge
their bodies might sustain.
Let's not ignore another's pain
and what they're going through.
Have sympathy or empathy—
select which one fits you.
For someday we may undergo
the aches and pains one feels.
It's then we will quite understand
their pain is very real.
"Finally, all of you, be like-minded,
be sympathetic, love one another,
be compassionate and humble."
(1 Peter 3:8, NIV)
