Oh, who can suffer like our God?
Or so intensely or so long?
With patience to withhold the rod
To bear with man's embrace of wrong.
Alone, He suffered more than all
His Cross, the pinnacle of time
And hung with suffering to appall
The summit of man's wintertime.
He suffered torture there for us
And bore the judgement for our sin
For He alone endured thus
So we, His Way, may enter in.
He will not always plead with man
His great accepted time is now
To understand the Loving Plan
His Grace, this moment, will allow.
His Love, at present will endure
Long suffering only His to give
Such Love that will provide the cure
A little longer, to forgive.
