Grace in Generosity

by Bose V © 2024

In the hill country, Mary went,
To greet Elizabeth, heaven-sent.
Though far apart, their hearts were near,
Both carrying blessings, hope, and fear.

Elizabeth, in her old age,
Had found God's grace in a holy stage.
Mary, young, with faith so true,
Carried the Savior, her promise due.

Though Mary had much to give and share,
Elizabeth's blessing came with prayer.
"Blessed art thou, among all women,
The Lord's own mother, His promise given."

For though she had no wealth to offer,
Her words were rich with Spirit's power.
The child within her leaped with joy,
For God's great plan was being employed.

The elderly may not give in gold,
But their blessings are worth more than told.
Filled with the Spirit, their prayers take flight,
And echo in our hearts, pure and bright.

Let us be like Mary, swift to greet,
To offer love, to serve, to meet.
Let us bless the aged, the weak, the poor,
For through our kindness, God's love will pour.

In helping others, we'll find our own,
Blessings returned in ways unknown.
For when we bless with humble heart,
God's will for us will surely start.

This Christmas, let us be a light,
To bless and help, to set things right.
For when we serve in love and grace,
God's blessings fill our hearts and place.
