What Does the Bible Say?

by Kevin Smead © 2024

Circumstances are against me
And it seems nobody cares,
I have so many Burdens
That no other mortal bares.

There is no one to comfort,
And I have no friend to pray,
But then I stop to ask myself
What does the Bible say?

God is for you not against you,
He is with you day by day,
His heart of grace is set on you,
He thinks of you always.

My iniquities are many,
It looks like they will prevail,
I placed my faith in Jesus Christ,
But often still I fail.

My mind is still corrupted,
And I sometimes go astray,
My heart tells me I am condemned,
What does the Bible say?

God is for you not against you,
Christ a full atonement made,
The debt of sin is cancelled,
It has been completely paid.

Death is out in front me,
I have an awful dread,
It almost drives me crazy,
As it occupies my head.

My soul is clinging unto life,
And loves this house of clay,
Such thoughts are overwhelming,
What does the Bible say?

God is for you not against you,
And the darkness shall not win.
If you die before Christ comes,
Your flesh shall rise again.

The Bible has the answers
To the problems that we face,
This world is dark and lonely,
But his word is full of grace.

There's no need for us to worry,
There's no need for us to fear,
The Bible has assured us
That redemption draweth near.
