Not by deeds which I have done,
Nor for my good behavior,
But I was saved by faith alone
In Christ my perfect Savior.
I do not need a payment plan,
I'm not on a subscription.
For me to pay for God's free gift,
Would be a contradiction.
Works are good, and so is love,
But keep them in their station.
They're needed for the Christian life,
But not for our salvation.
Good works did not beget His love,
Bad works will not forfeit it.
The promise stands on grace alone,
And God shall not forget it.
