Blue Skies Rust

by Dave Mudford © 2024

Blue skies slowly fading
beneath the cloud of doubt,
shadows of pain shading
trust, it begins to rout.

Sunrise glory not found
when searching in my lust,
love dies, without a sound
as hope begins to rust.

Scarred with a scarlet stain
bruised by my wounded heart,
lost in the pouring rain
not knowing where to start…

Needful of a Saviour
someone to set me free,
to give my life new flavor
Jesus came, to die for me.

Blue skies, now not dependent
on how I may be feeling,
in His grace, resplendent;
before His will, I'm kneeling.

blue skies rust
healed by grace,
His love trust
life embraced!
