The Blood of the Lamb is the perfection of cleansing
The wonder of washing, the glory of healing
To wash the whole world of its guilt and its sin
And cleanse a new path both without and within.
They say that the lambs-blood provides anti-venom
Against the bite of the snake and its poison
A symbol of Jesus the Lamb who would be
Receiving the snake-bite for you and for me.
He who was lifted between earth and heaven
Bearing our sins and our guilt in His body
Like the serpent of brass, requires but our sight
Faith-fixed on Him who has taken our bite.
Blood that is pouring for hearts that are longing
For freedom from guilt and its condemnation
Is God's great inclusion, the wonder of Grace
His perfect acceptance, that settled our case!
