Ode to the Tapestry of Unity

by Annie Bartins © 2025

In threads of spirit, spun from cosmic loom,
Where every hue and every line is drawn,
And also woven tightly, a garment of renown,
Where no division for it finds its dawn.

No longer bound by chains of yore,
Of race or class, we're more than a lore;
The fabric stitched with love divine,
Where we are one, within beauty's shine.

Like stars in heaven, each is a spark,
In God's grand tapestry, our hearts embark.
Not Jew nor Greek, nor slave nor free,
But now we are children in harmony.

The richness of our varied skin,
Does not determine where we've been.
Neither does gender, nor the land we claim,
For in His eyes, we share One name.

We are the lost and chosen combined,
A picture perfect with a Creator ever kind.
Through trials fierce, through battles long,
We will stand as one, forever we'll be strong.

This cloak of grace, without a tear,
Where faith alone is what we wear.
The promise sewn within its fold,
Is more than silver and more than gold.

All are one, in this sacred dress,
Where love has cast out every mess.
A unity that can't be bought,
Or by the world that's distraught and fraught.

This masterpiece of God's own hand,
Where every soul now understands
a symphony in a praise-filled song,
Where every tongue joins along.

O, tapestry of unity, so vast,
Where love has conquered everybody's past,
May we, as one, in this embrace,
Find peace and joy in every face.

And as we walk through life's great throng,
May we remember, all along,
That the love that we share so dear,
Where all are welcome, far and near.

In this, our anthem, let us sing,
The praise of hearts that truly cling
to Jesus Christ, our common thread,
in whom we live, in whom we're led.

Let us embrace this sacred bond,
Where all our differences respond
to be as one, forevermore,
in Christ alone, our hearts will adore.
