The LORD Deployed an Angel

to shield me from all harm.
He sent her from the Heavens
to fend and to disarm . . .
Disarm the adversary
from weapons that he bore—
the arrows sent at daybreak
and plagues that were in store.
My angel came with Weapons
provided by the LORD. . .
She dressed me in His armor
and gave to me His Sword.
The Helmet of Salvation
was placed upon my head.
The Belt of Truth was fastened —
around my waist 'twas thread.
The Shield of Faith was given
into my readied hands.
My feet were shod with swiftness
as I explored the lands.
A Breastplate of God's Virtue
was placed upon my chest
and with it was His blessing —
now, I was fully dressed.
Yes . . .
The LORD sent me an angel
and taught her how to fly.
She scanned my world for trouble —
o'er land and sea and sky.
