While witnessing a mighty storm
my thoughts ran to and fro.
My heart was overwhelmed with fear
that threatened a deathblow.
'Tis then I veered my thoughts toward God
and prayed on bended knee.
I asked that He'd direct the storm
off land, and out to sea.
And as I lifted up my prayers,
a calm came over me.
The fear was gone — my panic too —
the LORD had set me free. . .
Almighty God had heard my pleas —
He knew I was afraid.
He calmed the fear within my heart—
when He came to my aid.
It's when I cast my eyes on God
and placed my trust in Him,
that I was brought to tranquil grounds
and felt such peace within.
The LORD had saved me, yes, indeed —
He rescued me from harm.
While witnessing a mighty storm
my fears He did disarm.
