Ode to the New Creation

by Annie B © 2025

The wondrous transformation, heaven's decree,
Where hearts of stone become hearts full of glee.
In the mirror of love, we behold our rebirth -
The image of Christ and our life on this earth.

Reflected in mercy's gentle embrace,
Our tattered souls find a new-fashioned grace.
The old has been shed, like a cloak worn through time,
The new emerges, a phoenix in rhyme.

In the shadow of the Cross, where the Savior did reign,
Our spirits aloft, on the breath of God's pain.
A love so profound, it conquered the night,
A light so pure, it banished the plight.

We stand as the redeemed, no more lost;
But, found in the warmth of the heavenly host.
The chains of our yesteryears break and fall,
As we rise to answer the sweetest of calls.

All things are new, the scripture will say -
The old life is gone, in its stead is a day
where joy and peace dance in harmony,
where love is the air that we breathe so free.

Behold, we are ambassadors for Christ -
Bearers of hope in a world that's unjust.
Through trials and storms, we're steadfast and bold,
For God's love in us is what He had told.

Reconciled to the Father, we stand tall and free -
Our hearts are a canvas for His decree.
In Jesus' name, we live and we die,
In Him we find peace, in Him we'll abide.

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself,
A bridge built of grace, for sinners to cross in themselves
the love that once pierced now heals and restores
a bond so divine, it forever endures.

Gone are the ashes, forgotten the past;
Behold, we are new, forever we will last.
The old has been crucified, never to be,
In Christ, we are born anew, as we can now see.

This is the day the Lord has made -
A day of grace, for which we've prayed.
Let us walk in the path of the righteous, so true;
For, in Christ, we are made brand new.

The former things have passed, behold, they are gone,
The new creation in us, is now our bond.
We live by faith, in the power of His might,
Our lives are a testament - a beacon of light.

So let us go forth, in the name of the Lord,
Sharing the news of this precious reward.
For in Christ, we are born forever new,
The old is gone, praise be to God, it's true!
