Friend from my Youth

Since my youth I have known Jesus as Lord,
Walked close to Him and obeyed his word.
He is my constant companion and my friend
and will walk with me until my journeys end.

Our souls are knit together and we are one,
although I am a sinner and He is God's Son.
No greater Friend could anyone desire
than this Friend of my Youth whom I admire.

With a friendship like His, I will never be alone
for He will not forsake me or leave me on my own
Together, we will walk along life's way
and will continue walking until my dying day.

And at the moment that I breathe my last breath
Together, we shall walk through the Valley of death
For this Friend from my Youth is the Lord of my life
and has redeemed me from death by His sacrifice

And there in the heavens, both of us shall be
for the relationship, we have shall outlast eternity
Then I will know Him as I've never known Him before
This wonderful Friend of my Youth who I adore
