Pattern of My Life

A friend's death – fills my heart with pain
scarring sorrow, crowds in again,
as I wonder – what's left to claim;
there You are – loving me same!

Failure invades my every thought,
sorrow disrupts the comfort sought,
as I struggle to cope with shame;
there You are – loving me same!

Fighting words escape from my mouth,
connection begins to head south,
as I look for someone to blame;
there You are – loving me same!

Lost – in the middle of my strain,
black sheep; just searching in the vain,
as I burn true hope in lust's flame,
there You are – loving me same!

Distracted by the lure of sin,
wounded deep by the scars within,
as I abuse Your broken frame,
there You are – loving me same!

Scarlet sunset ends another day,
patterns – continue to have their say,
as I question – how I became;
there You are – loving me same!
