I am a broken jar of clay —
I'm shattered — I am raw.
It's by Your loving hands, my LORD,
You tended to my flaws.
You rescued me and washed me clean —
I was a broken mess.
My fractured pieces You did mend
with every sin confessed.
I am repentant of my wrongs —
so many damaged me.
I'm grateful You forgave my sins
and that You set me free.
You put me back together, God,
with tenderness and grace.
You saw right through my tainted soul,
and each sin You erased.
I am beholden to You, LORD,
for never shaming me.
You looked at me with no contempt,
nor ever un-just-ly.
With love, You had accepted me —
You did not turn away.
You spoke to me with gentleness —
no judgement was displayed.
I'm grateful that You made me whole
and have forgiven me. . .
I bow before You, Father God,
with grave humility.
I give You thanks and praise You, LORD,
for not rejecting me.
Instead, You showered me with love
so ever gra-cious-ly.
