Following Jesus

Our Lord died on a cross for us
Because he loved us so.
He paid the price for all our sin
So God we all could know.

How much we do believe in him
Is shown by how we act,
To prove that what we do believe
Is certainly a fact.

If we believe in Jesus Christ
Who died for all our sin,
How far must our belief extend
To truly follow him?

What does our Lord expect from us?
Deny ourself to serve,
And each taking up our own cross
If we can find the nerve.

Though Jesus suffered for us all,
Can we walk through that door?
If we will truly follow him,
Who will we suffer for?
