God, the Son, Forever King

There is a Rock on heaven's shore.
And when death's cords entangled me,
One who comes from God's own core.
His life He gave to set me free.

A Rock not hewn by human birth.
For then He interposed His blood.
Not of dust, nor from this earth.
His glory pour on me, a flood.

This living Word, this Son of God,
For darkness had engulfed my eyes.
Who showed me truth, yet earth He trod.
Had struck my heart and mind with lies.

He walked on earth with us as man.
But He was there to shine His light.
His death was His great master plan.
And shine throughout the darkest night.

Now I was lost and cast aside
How can it be that he would die,
By sin and hatred deep inside,
Nailed to a cross and lifted high?

But He was there to rescue me.
The Son of God, this mighty One
For He's the one who set me free!
Yes, Son of God, this sovereign One!

This Son of God, this gentle One,
How could I know the depth of love
Whose love for me the battle won.
From God, the Father, high above?

This mighty One whose strength is great
For now I'm safe forever more,
He broke through time and changed my fate!
Eternal life from heaven's shore.

This gift from God for trusting Him,
This God, this Son, forever King
The one who risk His life and limb.
His awesome love for me does ring!
