Entrant

by Mark W Terpin
https://allpoetry.com/Mwterpin

I sought to find the starting line
And enter in the race
For years, until I realized
It only was by grace.

But when I finally crawled across,
None other did I meet
To help me all along the way
Except the Paraclete.

And now although I sometimes limp
Or fall, yet I arise,
With hope that if I finish close
To Him, I'll win the prize.
