Christian Martyrs

by Eugene Whitney © 2025

Some Christians gave their lives to die
Leaving many to wonder why.
To give their life for their belief
It must have been worth all the grief.

But how is it that they believed
So strongly in to what they cleaved?
Was murdered Jesus seen alive?
How to this thought did they arrive?

Some witnesses did claim to see,
And many people did agree.
Yes, Jesus rose up from the dead.
Not death, but life restored instead.

A Christian martyr once did muse
What only fools would dare refuse.
The wise release what they can't use
To gain what they can never lose.

Creator God wants us to know
How much he really loves us so.
Our Christian martyrs would not die
Simply to cover up a lie.
