God Is Love

We are all born in ignorance
With opportunity
To learn about God's gracious love
Given to us for free.

It's human nature to love that
Which we're attracted to.
We tend to love what pleases us,
It's what we seem to do.

But God does not seek value from
The objects of His love.
No, rather God creates our worth
By loving from above.

God loves us and revealed Himself
In Christ, His only Son,
To show us all that He is love,
His gift to everyone.

To know this God who gives Himself,
We must all do the same.
For giving love is how we're sure
We truly know His name.
