We all must wait, for waiting will
produce impatience, or will form
Such patience that will keep us still
Despite a dark impending storm.
The clouds may gather far away
Though we will wait for skies of blue
And onset of a brighter day
As human beings always do.
Hope will, a shorter time include
For patience is so hard to bear
We do not want tomorrow's food
Today will always be our prayer.
God waits, and He is waiting yet
Fulfillment of His perfect time
His patient Word - lest we forget
and in our human efforts climb.
For who can know His perfect Mind?
Past, present, future He will see
We do not wait now, as the blind
But in His sovereign Will to be.
And though our waiting is earthborn
His time to wait, it is divine
He holds the reigns and will adorn
The flawlessness of His design.
