The closer to the church you live,
The more informed your mind,
The less excuse you'll have to give,
For living as the blind.
Since light brings opportunity,
For freedom from your sin,
More dark will be eternity,
If you're not born again.
More guilty still will be the soul,
Who walked among the saints,
Yet put a slight upon the Word,
And cast off all restraints.
If with His name upon your tongue,
You cling to unbelief,
It matters not the songs you sung,
Your path shall end in grief.
God's mercy is available,
But soon shall be no more,
His justice unassailable,
When once He shuts the door.
