A man works, toils as he should,
Under the Sun, his life is good,
Days come and go, the Earth still spins,
All is vanity, chasing the wind.
One Generation dies, a new one's born,
The breeze blows hard, another veil is torn,
The waters flow and then rescind,
All is vanity chasing the wind.
The eye can see, but is not satisfied,
Worldly gains, life's evil pride,
Things have been done, new deeds akin,
All is vanity, chasing the wind.
Is anything new, times are on repeat,
From ancient Empire, to modern city street,
I've seen man's works and I'm chagrined,
All is vanity chasing the wind.
Knowledge Grows, wisdom on the rise,
With these come grief, no surprise,
There's no escape, for we have all sinned,
Vanity, Vanity chasing the wind.
