"Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms," (Ephesians 6:10-18, NIV).
In the murky, perilous night,
when shadows search for prey,
dark forces on a battlefield
fight to have their way.
They strive to steal a weakened soul —
they tempt, deceive, and lure,
onto an unseen battleground
with purposes — impure.
When shadows fall from evil worlds —
assaulting you at night,
put on the Armor of the LORD —
be strong in Him and fight.
As you're not fighting flesh and blood —
they're rulers of the dark —
authorities not of this world
who'll leave an evil mark.
Be not afraid — you're not alone —
the LORD is by your side.
Have faith in Him and stay alert —
don't be preoccupied.
