HERE I STAND

by Marcia Gaither © 2026

Here I stand - proud and arrogant
Like a pharisee spirit'ly serene
Satisfied in speeches eloquent
Judging others I deem unclean.

Here He waits - kind, benevolent
Like a faithful father whose love's supreme
Satisfied to share His covenant
Calling sinners, rescue and redeem.

Here I bow - humble, reverent
Like brave Daniel, blameless before the king
Dissatisfied with sin prevalent
Forgiving others, no limiting.
