regret dances in the shadows
sacred hiding in our bruises,
the lost romance, just left to chance;
as His grace, our heart refuses.
shame forming our identity
as we listen to the voices,
the true blessing, just a dressing
as we disguise our heart choices.
pride disrupting mercy's beauty
distracted by the pursuit of ease,
the love story, just for our glory
as "self" attempts our heart to please...
grace transforming our pretty lies
sacred explored within our bruises,
the hope expanse, our life enhance;
as deep regret, our heart refuses.
2 Corinthians 12:9: But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
