God chooses who He will, for what He wants to do
For none can know His Mind, for humans never will
grasp His eternal thoughts, or see His journey through
That may involve a climb up to His Holy Hill.
Men have their choicest thoughts, of who they want to see
To lead in victory, over an opposing foe
But God may choose a way, that man will not agree
So like the lad who fed the sheep, those years ago.
For God may choose the very young, or very old
Or most unlikely, as mankind would mainly view
And not with worldly power, but sees His Grace unfold
with greater works of God far more than men can do.
A stone slung by the Spirit will overcome men's power
Although their giant weapons, intimidate the Earth
Christ's Cross will triumph in the darkness of the hour
To bring His great salvation and His endless worth!
