In shadowed lands where once we lay,
Alienated hearts, afar astray,
With minds that whispered notions to tell,
Where darkness danced and night did dwell.
Doing deeds of malice, we would roam,
With spirits chained to guilt's cruel home.
Yet, in the fabric of our plight,
A gleaming thread of hope took flight.
He came to us, in mortal guise,
To heal the wounds that never die.
The Son of God, with love so vast,
Bore burdens that our souls amassed.
His body, flesh of heaven's own design,
Endured the cross, the nails, the wine.
Of a silent scream against the sky,
For the sins of man, in Him He died.
In crimson tide, He bled and fell,
The price of grace, He paid so well.
The veil of separation torn,
We see the love for which we're born.
Through death, He conquered mortal fear,
And reconciled the souls we bear.
To Him, our hearts now softly lean,
Our sins forgotten, we're now made clean.
The tomb, once sealed in cold despair,
Now stands as a symbol, stark and bare.
For in its hollow, vacant space,
We find our hope, our saving grace.
Holy, blameless, gleaming bright,
Above reproach, we stand in light.
Before the throne of power and might,
Where love has claimed its rightful site.
Now we are one with Him who saves,
The chasm closed, our souls now brave.
Our former foe, now friend so true,
The bond of love, forever new.
With hearts alit by heaven's fire,
We rise, no longer to admire
the shackles of our yesteryears,
But dance in freedom, free from fears.
Let every tongue in rapture sing,
The praises to our glorious King,
Whose sacrifice has wrought the way,
For us to live without sin's decay.
In Him we find our truest part,
The peace that fills each beating heart.
And as we stand before the throne,
We sing this ode, forever known.
Ode to the One who bore the load,
Of our alienation to erode.
In You, we find our true abode,
In love, we're reconciled to God.
So let us live in grace's glow,
Where once there was shadows, now we grow
In Him, our hearts will never stray,
For in His love, we find our way.
