Holy Love

by Carolyn Pendley

Thinking of You in quiet solitude
In awe of Your array of beauty.
Counting my blessings one by one
Seeing it not as obligation or duty.

You said, "Peace I give you, My peace I leave you."
You have kept Your Word in whispers of the heart
Through the sighs of the wind, the silence of a cloud
And the lilting carol of a wayward lark.

I feel Your Love in all that touches me
The brush of the monarch upon my cheek
The caress of the grasses around my leg
This realm inherited by Your meek.

I am Your constant and humble reminder
Of all that You'll ever hold dear
Your love surpasses all heaven and earth
Just to keep me near.

I am the mirrored reflection of Your being
I am the glint in Your perfect and Holy eyes
I am your bride, your servant, your child
You gave up the world for ones such as I.

Your closeness accompanies my solitude
As we roam Your earthly paradise entwined
I am bound by the Covenant of Your Love
As You are bound by the joy of mine.
