The frost has lifted from the vineyard
the rising sun has been embraced,
the sweet melody of birds – heard;
the dark shadows are all displaced...
The grin that stole her young heart
still makes it skip a beat,
she cries when they have to part,
dancing with heavy feet.
With him she has made a home
a place where love is said,
refuge – where they're free to roam
no matter where they tread.
Leaning in when things are hard
they hold fast to their choice,
their vows they will not discard
in love they will rejoice.
Seasons come and seasons go
yet still their love remains,
in silence breath – they still know,
love blossoms through the rains.
The frost has lifted from the vineyard
the rising sun has been embraced,
the sweet melody of birds – heard;
the dark shadows are all displaced.
Finally, death comes calling
life shared – romance to the end,
she cannot keep on stalling
to her grief she has to tend.
The frost has settled on the graveyard
the rising sun has been misplaced,
the melody of pain - now heard;
his frail body begins to waste.
Resting in her Saviour's arms
she faces days alone,
knowing of life's deepest harms,
secure – that she is known.
The frost has gone now from the vineyard
the risen Son has been embraced,
the sweet melody of grace – heard;
the dark shadows – with joy replaced.
The grin that stole her young heart
still makes it skip a beat…
