My alabaster flax

by Frankie May

What is in my alabaster flax
That I hold on so tightly
While wearing a mask
That hides what I am
Thinking only what I need
A heart full of greed

In a world full of hurt
Hunger and pain
I hold in my hand
With selfish restrain
The thing I have keep
That has help me sustain
My walk in this world
Is judas my name?

So many things to keep for myself
Money, clothes, food they
Are all on my shelf
The gospel of Christ
I hide in my heart
To busy with my time
Even to start
I'll do it tomorrow
Even though I don't
I can't give it up
I won't, I won't, I won't

It's just to expensive
To precious to share
I can't break it open
To wash with my hair
The loving feet of Jesus
Those wonderful feet
That walked to the cross
For all my sins to bare

It was then my heart changed
When I broke open the flax
I let the fragrance flow
From His head to His toes
Now I can see I have
Nothing to lack
Once I give it up
HE WILL GIVE IT ALL BACK!
