Making God our Habit

haste a mistake
in our rush to still,
do - instead of who,
rules and not our will.

divert from the alert,
solitude on the shelf,
despair - instead of prayer
thinking of our self…

a pause with a holy cause
breathing in His grace,
waiting - instead of wasting,
aware of God's embrace.

lesson is the blessing
not a life of ease,
learn - instead of yearn,
falling to our knees

dependency our tendency
our intimacy's glee,
time - instead of rhyme
more of His love see.

listen our tradition
with the Lord to share,
sacred - instead of hatred,
resting in His care.

decision is our mission
habit not just chance,
reviving instead of striving,
dwelling – not mere glance.

vision not religion
connection is the key,
brother - instead of "other"
His grace our only plea.

aware that we're His heir
resting in God's favour,
forgiven - instead of driven,
His presence ours to savour.
