Some say grace gives a second chance;
That's really not true at all.
Salvation does not place us where
We were before the fall.
It does not leave uncertainty
As to our final state.
It does not say, "You're good for now,
But we shall have to wait."
It does not make us innocent,
Yet still under the law.
It truly justifies by grace
Believers once for all.
For all our sins are washed away,
And those which are to be,
Are not imputed to our soul
Against eternity.
Angels rejoice when we are saved;
They have not jumped the gun.
For God is able to complete
The work He has begun.
For Christ, our head, is safe and sound;
The Lord our righteousness.
He is now, and shall always be,
Our hope of blessedness.
So thank Him now with all your heart;
There is no need to wait.
You are in Jesus Christ, by faith;
Go on and celebrate.
