the worry of tomorrow
changes only today,
fills it with a heaviness
a grief that we survey.
the sorrow of the morrow
cannot be changed today,
pain is lived in the present
not a curse that we can sway.
we empty precious with the shadows
in the strength we drain today,
not easing the weight to come
for this moment we betray.
resting now in God's goodness
in the blessing of today,
not reaching for tomorrow,
just be still and learn to pray.
"Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength" - Corrie Ten Boom
