God gave us eyes, a gift of pure delight
That we may be enraptured by our seeing
To walk the world, its features, dark or bright
That give such depth and purpose to our being.
So many travel through their lives as blind
When all around, God's wondrous world is showing
creation's glories, yet they do not find
The wonder of the skies, or rivers flowing.
For God created us, that we may see
with greater moral depth and His perception
To see beyond, into eternity
And never rest upon the world's deception.
We only really see with Spirit's eyes
For then we are, upon His Grace relying
That paints a brighter hue upon the skies
A newer Life discovered through His dying.
So eyes that once were blind, have now been cleared
To see the Cross, and know His resurrection
What humans see, and have forever feared
are swallowed up with sight of His perfection.
