Moulded, crafted by the Word, sacred Torah, book of five,
From that well of knowledge, his beloved God was so alive.
The lion, the bear, when they sprang out, he had only to be brave,
For in action, he was able to see His mighty God who saves.
He lived for God's own pleasure and gave back not just a part
But all of his very being, beginning with his heart.
Up from the barren, dry rocky ground the spring became a brook,
He went to the source of Living Water and from it he took
A lovingly crafted reflection, and smooth shaped stones of five
For he knew in whose strong image he was made to be alive.
From darkness, out of chaos, came the line of the Anakim,
From Judah's line, a servant boy, knew The Name he must redeem.
Roaring, mocking, the mighty warrior stood lofty and so proud,
Sword, spear, javelin, his weighty armour, a hissing scaly shroud.
The beast, low in the Elah valley, desired his pound of flesh
But always will prevail, Yahweh and the Ruach HaKodesh.
So from his little bag he drew the power of God alone
" Run David! Run! You-are-God's-own-living-stone!!".
