God’s Tears

When Jesus wept, it was God's tears within
Man's eyes, that were so blurred and rendered dim
through Love, as He beheld death's iron hold
upon mankind; such tears, intrinsic Gold.

His Heart that saw so clearly, though His eyes
was filled with sadness as He viewed the skies
Where His vast Home portrayed such clarity
That man with tearless eyes just could not see.

For death's cold hand will rest on humankind
And render man, deaf, powerless and blind
But Christ the Man, with eyes through dripping Blood
Entered right in, where man in sorrow stood.

This, only this, will change the tears of man
into God's tears; for mens' repentance can
Straighten the path, where once they went astray
And through His Blood, sad tears are washed away.
