A Sinner Lost - Now Found

by Kristine Stanton © 2026

"Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your unfailing love;
according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.
Wash away all my iniquity
and cleanse me from my sin."
(Psalm 51:1-2, NIV)

I pour my heart out to You, LORD—
my soul weeps every day.
I'm sorry for the wrongs I'd done
when I had gone astray.

I'm on my knees with mournful tears
and sorrow deep within.
I ask forgiveness from You, LORD,
for every ugly sin.

I made poor choices—caused You grief,
was lost and now I'm found.
You rescued me from a dark world
where I was ever bound.

You set me free from binding chains;
You came to make me whole.
You washed me clean of all my sins—
the sins that stained my soul.

I thank You, LORD, for loving me—
a sinner, once enslaved.
I'm ever grateful to You, LORD—
a sinner who's been saved.

"This son of mine was dead
and has now returned to life.
He was lost, but now he is found."
(Luke 15-24, NIV)
