The Battlefields

by Kristine Stanton © 2026

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds," (2 Corinthians 10:3-4, NIV).

God shields me on the battlefields
and blesses me with strength.
I do not fear; I'm not alone
to fight at any length.

I'm armed with godly weapons,
provided by my LORD,
and by my side are angels
who carry mighty swords.

The battlefield on which I fight
is not seen by my eyes,
but it is real, this unseen world,
where souls are compromised.

The strife's against the enemy,
an evil force of sin
that tries the souls of all mankind;
its purpose is to win.

But God will n'er abandon me;
He'll guide my steps each day,
and when my eyes are kept on Him,
my soul will never stray.

I proclaim God as my refuge
and make the LORD Most High
my dwelling place forevermore—
this is my battle cry.

"If you say, "The Lord is my refuge,"
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways."
(Psalm 91: 9-11, NIV)
