I heard a Voice say "This is the Way in which to walk"
No other path will here display
As we will company with Him, and to Him talk
Our hearts will burn along the Way.
Today, if you will hear His Voice, we must not find
The way is lost through hardened hearts
As in the wilderness, distractions here will bind
And open us to satan's darts.
For Jesus said, 'My sheep will hear my Voice,' and not
take heed to any siren sound
That only steers within the world's unhappy lot
When we must be on Spirit's ground.
The still small voice, the whirlwind, or the fire will be
How we will hear, and know the way
That leads our longing hearts towards eternity
And hear what only He will say.
